program structure.
This is a mixed mode program where coursework is completed through assignments & online assessments and the research is done as Guided Research. The candidates have to complete 4 modules of theory before commencing the research on their university-approved topic.
The total credits are divided among theory modules, research proposal, articles writing & publications, dissertation review and dissertation defense.
Following are the generic top-level program requirements. The detailed curriculum shall be provided after enrollment:
- Coursework Modules (3 core + 1 elective)
- Acceptable and relevant Topic of Research
- Research Proposal conforming to University Format
- Research Publications in Acceptable Journals
- Dissertation PPT / Chapter Plan
- Dissertation (and its defense)
❚ Research Supervisor
Since Ph.D. by Coursework & Research involves Guided Research, it requires a Research Supervisor who shall guide the student through different stages of his/her research.
In order to make the program more affordable, GradXs provides an option of Student-Nominated Mentor who shall be chosen by the student but requires to be approved by the university. The supervisor should have a Doctorate Degree and sufficient teaching/industry experience in order to be eligible for the same. In this case, the management of financials (honorarium cost, etc.) is done entirely between the supervisor and the student.
In case a student opts for a supervisor assigned by GradXs, GradXs shall assign a University approved GradXs-Assigned Mentor from its network of highly qualified and distinguished Research Mentors for guiding the student in the best possible way. However, this shall incur an additional fee of USD 500.

How does the program certificate look like?
Can the program be completed alongside a regular job?
Yes. This is a degree by coursework & research program and all the assessments for this program are conducted online which makes it flexible enough to complete it alongside a job.
In fact, most of the students currently enrolled in this program are actually working professionals.
Can I visit the university campus?
Yes, definitely!
IICUT conducts an optional compact On-Campus Seminar (OCS) Program at its campus in Phnom Penh for all the international Ph.D. students enrolled & support-facilitated through GradXs. The University provides necessary invitation letters for obtaining VISA. The participants have to make their own arrangements for travel, boarding & lodging. However, necessary guidance about lodging & boarding shall be provided.
GradXs strongly encourages participation in the OCS Program, which however is an optional facility as of now. The program shall take place once or twice a year and the student can choose to attend any one of them. The OCS program shall incur an additional fee of USD 750 payable 1 month before its scheduled commencement.
Note: The OCS program is conducted subject to a minimum number of students opting for the same.
Can I migrate from other universities?
Yes!
To make it affordable for students enrolled in another University, GradXs offers a fee waiver of up to USD 500 based on the stage of their existing program. Eligible students can also avail an exemption of credits, subject to evaluation of progress in their existing program.
Additionally, GradXs offers extra support to such students by designing a customised timeline which helps the student in completing the program on time. As a result, a lot of students from various universities have already migrated to IICUT, and they have been able to complete their Ph.D. without any academic delay.
Can I pay the program fee in installments?
Yes! GradXs provides an easy no-cost installment scheme wherein the student has to pay the entire program fee broken into installments (without any extra charges) at an interval of 4 months.
Do I need to arrange for the research supervisor by myself?
The student is free to arrange for a supervisor on his/her own. But in case a student is unable to find a supervisor, or wants a GradXs assigned supervisor, GradXs shall assign a University approved GradXs-Assigned Mentor from its network of highly qualified and distinguished Research Mentors for guiding the student in the best possible way. However, this shall incur an additional fee of USD 500.
